My story
Hi, I’m Liara AKA Zola!
A 5-year-old, female Chihuahua mix with a sweet, mellow disposition. The racing stripe down my back is a non-itching variety of Alopecia most likely caused by a nervous condition. Some say it makes me look edgy. I get so nervous about things that my whole body trembles. But, with some TLC, I’ll be your biggest protector and BFF.
Let’s get this straight right from the start… I’m a house dog and I don’t walk on a leash! I enjoy backyard excursions and would love to keep you company out there. I’m working through some insecurity issues. New environments, car rides, socializing with people and other animals is all terrifying for me, but with a little practice every day, I think I might actually learn to like all of those things.
I’m kind of potty trained… as long as you take me outside every few hours, but I expect you to read my mind. I can get inside using the doggy door, but haven’t quite got the confidence, YET, to go outside on my own. I prefer to go outside together.
My favorite place to sleep is next to you. As long as I go potty before bed, I will sleep through the night. I would like to make friends with a cat, but they’re super moody so I tend to keep my distance. I know some commands, but I don’t follow them. How can I “come” and “sit,” if I don’t trust you, yet. With some patience, kindness, and understanding, eventually, I will do as you wish. Except for the leash thing – that freaks me out!
