Leica IIIf Red Dial Rangefinder Camera Body - RefurbishedSeven Decades Later - Nice smooth operating condition Camera:For your collection today, I am offering a Leica IIIf red dial body bearing s/n 618116 that was produced in early 1950's. The camera is in excellent operating condition and has been cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted. The Leica IIIf red dial has the most advanced shutter mechanism of all the IIIf designs. There are 12-1.0mm ball bearings in the bottom shutter crate assembly which provide the smoothest operation of shutters among all the IIIf and earlier models. The camera's original shutter curtains have been replaced and the camera now operates correctly. After being service, the shutter speeds are now accurate (within tolerance) including the slow speeds. The 1 sec. speed is a bit long but within tolerance. The camera operates smoothly and properly in every way. The brake has been adjusted and is working properly. The exterior vulcanite remains in very nice condition. The optics are bright and clean and the rangefinder alignment is correct with a well defined, easy to see, secondary image. The interior is clean and includes a Leica film take up spool. The chrome surfaces for a camera that has been around for nearly 73 years look very nice as the pictures demonstrate. The camera operates very smoothly now and accepts all Leica LTM lenses as well as Canon and other M39 screw mounts of this period. A very nice Leica camera that is ready for extended use. An aftermarket body cap is included.THE LENS SHOWN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE.Thank you in advance for your purchase!
