Layla's story
If your dog needs a new best friend then Layla may be the girl for you. Layla is an adorable terrier who is around two years old and weighs around 15 pounds. She was found as a stray so we dont know anything about her previous life, but apparently this special girl was mistreated. Since she has become a FOR dog, however, Layla has begun to learn that people can be trusted. It has been a slow process but she is making progress. Her adopter will need to be prepared to be very patient as she learns to trust and adjusts to her new home.
When she first came to her foster home, she wouldnt allow anyone to touch her. But gradually she permitted more and more physical contact and now she often joins her foster mom and other dogs in evening cuddle sessions on the couch. She is more trusting of women and it takes longer for her to warm up to men. Sudden movements will startle her.
Layla loves other dogs so a playful canine companion is a must for her. She loves to run and chase with her foster siblings. She enjoys playing with toys and chewing on cow hooves and antlers. Layla has a cute habit of taking toys one at a time out of the doggie toy box and spreading them across the floor. She also likes to rearrange the doggie beds and move them across the room.
Precious Layla needs a patient adopter, a quiet household, a canine playmate, and a securely fenced yard. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and current on preventatives. If you feel that you have the patience and love to welcome this special girl into your life, please apply to adopt her at http://forrescue.net/dog- application/. She is located in Huntsville, AL, but is available for adoption in your area.
