Baby Boy!
My name is Red aka Winn a beautiful spayed 3 year old black 70 lb lab mix dog. I am a Very Good Girl. I can be very shy around new people.
I have been professionally trained for obedience. I would love a new home with an experienced dog owner to help me finish my behavior modification, ideally with another dog around to help me feel safe. I love to spend time outside and need a yard to spend my day in.
I love other dogs and enjoy playing with them all, and I am even very comfortable being off leash in exciting dog park and dog beach gatherings, even if I am a bit submissive and scared of some new dogs at first. In big public places where there are lots of other dogs around I feel quite confident. My favorite place on earth is Dog Beach in Ocean Beach and also in Del Mar. I am very good at Tricks - "touch" is my favorite game for feeling safe and happy, and I am very good at "down" and "stay" and I love to learn because I am Smart. I can do "stay" for a very long time while my family is eating dinner, my personal record is 33 minutes! I also love to run with a person, and once I even ran 17 miles.
Winn has dog training for life with professional dog behavior trainer - it will help her get adjusted to her new family and home
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog. We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog. Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
