Labrador Retriever - Max/long Term Foster Home Needed - Medium
Max is a 10 year old, 92 lb. lab/retreiver who has cancer. His owner relinquishedhim before he was diagnosed due to a relative having to move in who had asthma.Max was in the shelter when he came down with a nose bleed and when he went to
the vet she discovered he had an enlarged liver and spleen.
Max is currently in a foster home on hospice care with many other dogs and he does
very well, however I have one personal large male dog who does not particularly
like Max and I am tired of breaking up fights and watching to see if one is coming.
With 20 plus dogs of all sizes and ages it is too difficult.
Max needs a nice place to just hang and be loved. He gets tired going 6 blocks but
a 2 to 3 block walk for a change of scenery woudl be nice. He is good with other
dogs though he needs to be watched around tiny dogs if there is excitement,
He is housebroken and has a good appetite. Max takes doxycycline and prednizone
every day and he hasn' t had any more nose bleeds. He seems to be doing fairly
well.
Max can be a counter surfer and will help himself to whatever food is in reach
on the kitchen counter. Max is what I would call a big Dufus.
If you can give this guy a foster home till he is uncomfortable please call Seena
at . We will provide meds, food and medical care.
.Max would do best in a home with another big dog to play with and have company with.
