Labrador Retriever - Kelly - Medium - Young - Female - Dog
Kelly, a spayed female dog, 1 year old, 26lbs
Meet Kelly! Kelly is a sweet and gentle dog. Kelly has a super good temperament. Kelly is shy at first but once she gets to know her people, she loves to be with you and is a very loyal dog, great with dogs and cats, and gentle around young children. Kelly loves to play with dogs and will do great in a home with another dog. Kelly is very submissive and will do great in any doggie parks without any formal introduction to new dogs. She is great with dogs of all sizes. However, she is sensitive to loud noises and movements so wont be a good off-leash dog.
Kelly was rescued by a college student who saw 3 puppies under a bridge and was so hungry for food and love. The kind-hearted student quickly brought them home without thinking how she was going to find them homes. However, the students parents were very upset and asked her to return them back to the streets. The student was very heart-broken and just didnt have the heart to dump them. So, she brought Kelly and her littermates to board in a nearby groomer. The student used her allowances to pay for all expenses. The groomer was kind enough to let the puppies stay but had left all of them in a cage for nearly 2 months and never let them out. The student really didnt know how to find them homes and was so desperate that she nearly gave up and had to send them back to the streets.
Kellys now foster mom heard about their misfortune and quickly went to the groomer to rescue them. She brought Kelly back to her home filled with love and care. Kelly is a very smart girl and learns at an amazing speed. Kelly is doing really well in her foster home. However, she is a little shy. The foster mom is a dog trainer and began working with Kelly together with all her other rescued dogs as you can see in her training video below. Kelly knows the commands heel, sit, down, and down stay. The foster mom also spends lots of time socializing her with strangers and children. Kelly has improved so much and is now ready for her own forever home. Kelly is a gentle and sweet dog and loves to be with other dogs. We are looking for a patient family who will continue to work with her and give her a happy and loving home. If you can give Kelly love and some time to settle down, she will return her gratitude with a life-time love and loyalty. Please be her guardian angel and give her a chance to live.
