Labrador Retriever - Hunter - Large - Adult - Male - Dog

　　Hunter : 6 year old neutered yellow male 75 lbs

　　Hunter was found wandering in King City and was turned over to GGLRR. He is a gorgeous boy with a loving heart and big brown eyes. Hunter was examined by our vet and found to have a congenital condition involving the retinas of his eyes?he has decreased vision but is not blind, just occasionally misjudges heights and distances and sometimes bumps into things?.but he gets around really well. The condition can't be cured, but it doesn't bother Hunter at all and he runs and jumps and plays quite normally. He is a sweetheart of a boy and he's great with kids and wonderful with other dogs. In fact, Hunter hasn't met anyone he doesn't like. He's currently living with three other big male dogs in his foster home. Hunter loves to snuggle with his foster on the couch and lay his head in her lap. He also loves to hang out at her feet when she's on her computer. He's not a barker. He is pretty good on a leash, pulling initially but settling in after the initial excitement, and he knows sit. He's completely housebroken. Hunter was adopted to a great home with a retired couple, but they returned him because he didn't like being left alone and was somewhat destructive when left. What we've found, however, is that he can be left alone for hours at a time as long as he has a dog buddy?.then he's fine, unless you leave a pair of shoes out for him to chew. He loves shoes. So we'll be looking for a home for Hunter with another dog. He's such an easy dog to have around and we'd trust him even with younger kids. He doesn't counter surf or jump up on people. He's good in the car, but needs help getting in and out because he can't judge the distance from the ground to the car. He loves playing with toys and really acts more like a puppy when he's playing with them. Hunter is truly a love bug and is just looking for the right family to take him home forever. Hunter is located in the Monterey area.
