Labrador Retriever - Fido - Large - Adult - Male - Dog

　　This very handsome guy is Fido. He and his friend Jaime cam to RUFF Rescue through the efforts of his wonderful foster dad. Fido and Jaime's guardian was an elderly man who became ill and went into hospice care. When he passed away the dogs were abandoned and were headed for the Humane Society. There was little chance of them ever being adopted because they had never been socialzed, they had been neglected and controlled by being sprayed with a hose. They were never allowed in the house and their food and water dishes were not changed out for fresh food and water, so they were eating moldy food and drinking water from a green, moldy water dish. Since coming into rescue Fido has learned to walk on a leash, he allows a harness to be put on for his walks and he is learning to enjoy the attention of many humans that come by to help socialize him and Jaime. Fido and Jaime are the best of friends. In the past they had only each other for safety and security. It would be wonderful if they could find a home where they can go together. Fido is about 65 pounds of loving doggy who is learning to play with toys and for the first time in his two years he is learning that humans can be kind of fun to be around.
