　　COURTESY LISTING FOR A PRIVATE OWNER-- NOT A MOBILE SPCA ANIMAL. ABOUT ME: This friendly, outgoing, and beautiful female mixed breed dog showed up in our yard about three weeks ago and has refused to leave. We have taken to calling her Felicia. We have been feeding her ever since and have taken her to the vet for a check-up, to check for a microchip (there was none), and to arrange for her vaccinations, on which she is now current. She appears to be a mixed Lab/Pit, and according to the vet, is about eight months old. She weighs 42 lbs. and will probably grow a little bit more. The vet estimates she'll be around 50 lbs. when adult. He pronounced her in excellent health. The vet checked for a surgical scar and is pretty sure she was not spayed, unless the surgery was performed when she was very young.

　　She is extremely affectionate and plays well with the two boys in our household (ages 8 and 11), even when they are a little rough with her. She loves to play fetch with a stick or ball and will obey simple commands (sit, stay). She is learning to walk on a leash and loves riding in the car. In all our interactions with her she has never been anything other than gentle (but exuberant!). Because we have a territorial indoor cat, she has stayed outside in a fenced yard (we arranged some shelter for her in case of rain); I can't comment about how she would behave indoors or whether she is house-trained. However, considering that she was very well nourished, clean, and well-tended when she showed up at our house, I think she came from a good home, but our efforts to reunite her through the newspaper and Americanlisted have been unsuccessful.

　　This is really a wonderful dog that will be a great companion to a loving family. We would keep her were it not for our landlord's restrictions on the size of animals he allows in his property. If you are interested, the current will pay half the costs of spaying her.
