Labrador Retriever - Brandie - Medium - Baby - Female - Dog

　　Brandie: Labrador mix, Spayed female, 7 months old, 22 lbs., Submissive

　　She is very obedient and friendly with people of all ages!

　　Brandie was one of the strays that would show up at the rescuer's feeding spot at night. She was scared and always tucked her tail between her legs. The rescuer suspected something was wrong with the puppy but was unable to determine the reason because of the puppy's aloofness. One night when Brandie showed up upon hearing the rescuer's arrival, the rescuer shined her scooter headlight on her and saw the puppy's neck was injured. After following Brandie, the rescuer found her hiding under a pile of rubble. The rescuer successfully lured her out with food and rushed Brandie to the animal hospital. The vet made a shocking discovery- a horrible and cruel person had put an extremely tight rubber band around Brandie?s neck! It was embedded in her neck so deeply and had been there so long that it caused gangrene. The vet said that such acts of cruelty often happen to friendly animals. It's hard to imagine the agonizing pain Brandie must have been in. Brandie?s neck injury was surgically treated and she recovered but the rubber band had damaged her trachea. As a result, Brandie tends to pant after playing or heavy exercise.

　　Despite her traumatic start in life, Brandie is an extremely friendly soul. She loves and trusts people and gets along great with kids, dogs and cats. This pup loves getting hugs, cuddling and going for her daily walks. She?s a stable little girl who walks well on leash. Brandie made it through unspeakable abuse.
