My story

　　My name is Trixie, and my story is a sad one.  I was loved very dearly, but my Daddy died, and I laid beside him for a couple of days before they discovered we were in trouble.  My wonderful NBRAN Foster Family took me in to love and help me heal emotionally and get me healthy.   I am a 9 1/2 yr old,  40#, orange/white spayed senior girl.   I would love to find my forever home by Christmas.  I am housebroken and a very easy-going loving girl.  I would like to be with someone at home retired or working from home.  My Daddy was always home, and my foster parents are home with me all the time too. 

　　I get along with dogs, respectful kids, and love everyone.   I have had a few health issues, but the vet says I am ready for my forever home, and she would be happy to talk to your vet to go over everything.  When I came into rescue, I didn’t have any signs of a uti, but they checked for an uti, and I had one.  It took a while as I needed different medicines for different bacteria’s that were found in culturing my urine.  I would need you to make sure they never come back.  I also had Ehrlichia, which took my platelets low, but now my platelets are normal, and I am cured.  My bloodwork is still a little wonky but getting better as I get healthier with diligent care, food, and love.

　　From Foster Parents:  Trixie is a healthy, athletic, and very intelligent. She is micro chipped, heart worm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations. She is currently receiving monthly doses of heartworm and flea and tick prevention.   She is very well mannered with a very sweet and cute personality.

　　Trixie loves to meet people and will literally prance and wiggle in anticipation but is well behaved and will not jump on them.  She is not aggressive with other dogs but is somewhat reserved until she gets to know them.

　　She loves to run and play outside and would do best with a fenced in yard where she can chase the squirrels.  She would also do well with people who are physically active and love to go on walks.  She loves to curl up next to you, or in her bed, and chill out when playtime is done.

　　She is house broken, and crate trained, although she prefers to be in bed with you or on her bed nearby.  Be aware that if she does sleep with you, she will snuggle.

　　Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.
