Kira's story
Kira is a wonderful example of what it means to be a dog with a focus on what's important in life. For Kira, the focus is on fun! Fun is defined by plenty of time to jump over things, sniff things, roll on things and THEN cuddle in the lap of her person. This little Cattledog is everything you would expect in the breed; bright, smart and very much a people person. Kira came to us from one of our partner agencies in hopes a very savvy adopter will take on the commitment this dog (or any dog) needs to navigate the world. Kira is likely deaf. Our volunteers and behavior team know deafness is no big deal, especially when time is taken to develop other ways to communicate. We use a version of sign language. However we communicate, the goal is to help her, and her adopter, learn to bond and connect for a life of fun.
