Khaleesi's story

　　Usually upon meeting a new rescue we have to learn all about the dog and write the stories ourselves. Miranda was heart broken in her plea for us to take Khaleesi. Here is what she had to say:

　　Kahleesi is truly a force of nature. She is the smartest dog Ive ever come across and is so strong. The resilience this dog has is spectacular. She is only one year old and has already gone through the trauma of being minutes from euthanasia. She was placed in a shelter when she was a year old because the owner didnt want her anymore, and they almost put her down, but when she got to my house, she bounced back to be the energetic sweet, affectionate, silly pup that I know and love. I am the most recent owner of Kahleesi and would have loved to keep this pup if my housing arrangement would have allowed for it. I saved this pup from being euthanized and now I am really hoping that through Four Paws Kahleesi will find a forever home.

　　As well as any other rescue dogs there are some things that you need to know before taking khaleesi home.

　　She does not like cats! They give her lots of anxiety and she will chase them if she has the opportunity. Her new home needs to be a cat free house.

　　Kahleesi is brilliant! She can pick up tricks within minutes and has great athletic ability. If you are a runner, this is a great dog for you. Better yet if you wish for a sport dog I could see her winning many awards!

　　Kahleesi is not a dog for a home that has young kids as she is very uncomfortable in small spaces with children. The way she acts around them makes me think that she was tormented by a young child when she was apuppy. She should not be indoors with children at any time. If around kids she should be monitored.

　　Kahleesi loves other dogs she was frequently taken to dog parks and loved the socialization. A home with another dog would be fantastic!

　　Zoomies! This is something that affects lots of dogs. It is basically random spurts of energy that come from nowhere. Kahleesi gets the zoomies when she has not gone on enough walks or is cooped up for a while. She will zoom around the house like a little rocket. The treatment for these zoomies is belly rubs. Lay her down on her back and rub her belly and she will instantly calm down.

　　Kahleesi is house trained! But in a new house when she is nervous accidents could happen so she should be taken out frequently or should have access to the outdoors for the first week or so.

　　Kahleesi is crate trained. She likes to have access to her crate and can be left in it during the day up to 5 hours at a time. This is also a good place for her to go if she gets to rambunctious (it calms her down).

　　If you are a good person, active person with no kids or cats that is need of a companion, Kahleesi is perfect for you. She will put a smile on your face with her goofy self and soothe your bad days with endless cuddles.

　　Adoption fee: $35 includes: Spay or Neuter, All vaccinations are up to date, and a microchip. If you have current pets we do allow a two week trial period for $25. This allows us to make sure that the animal will fit in with the resident animals.
