Khaleesi's story
Special Needs:
Khaleesi is a Beautiful Shepherd Who Needs A Forever Home 6 year old, female, vision - impaired, black and tan German Shepherd
Good with other dogs: No
Good with children: No
Good with cats: No
This beautiful girl was turned into the Apache Junction shelter as a stray and they contacted Saving Paws right away when staff members realized she was vision impaired. This girl is very sweet with people and loves attention and play time. Because of her vision impairment
she is blind in one eye, but the other eye is fine
she does tend to react to people that approach her
kennel. But once she realizes there is no danger, she is ready to hang out and play. The vet feels that with her vision impairment being caused by a birth defect, she may be a little slower to react as well. We recommend that Khaleesi be an only dog so that she can feel comfortable, secure and get all the love she deserves for a loving family. But this beautiful girl is fun to be around and really enjoys attention (and stealing shoelaces). She walks well on a leash and loves car rides (although she prefers being the copilot in the front seat). Khaleesi is a strong girl that hasnt had much training in her life, so shell need a patient, but strong handler who is willing to teach her how to be a proper young lady. But we promise that with her loving personality, youll be paid back 10 fold!
As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our
online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full - time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
