20" FRAME
"1989 Kestrel MXZ - Carbon fiber bikes are commonplace today but in the late 1980's, it was definitely a cutting edge material. The frame shape was pretty radical since most frames were still constructed from round tubes. The granite-like Zolatone finish set the bike apart even further. The molded construction lent itself to the elevated chain stay design. The seat tube/chain stay intersection could be beefed up to increase the stiffness of the bottom bracket area. Components are pretty straight forward Shimano Deore XT parts with the exception of the Deore front derailleur which was direct mounted to the frame."
I HAVE SINCE COMPLETELY DISMANTLED THE ENTIRE BIKE. AND REBUILT WITH TOP OF THE LINE COMPONENTRY FROM TODAY'S TIME.
TWO SETS OF WHEELS AND TIRES, ONE ROAD SET FOR TRAINING, AND ONE MOUNTAIN BIKE SET FOR OFF-ROAD. ALL BRAND NEW.
