Kasper's story
Kasper is a 3(ish) year old poodle mix weighing 10lbs.
Kasper was dumped at a shelter in Texas about a month ago. We were lucky to get him out of the shelter pretty quickly before he got sick, or just completely shut down. He has made his way to CO and has been in foster care for about 2 weeks now. He is officially ready to find his forever home and is finally starting to come out of his shell.
It did take a little longer for Kasper to warm up to his foster Momma than some others. It seems he has been through a lot. Not once has he shown any aggression, he just cowers and does not always run up to people right away. Kasper does love to lay on the couch with his foster Momma now that he feels more comfortable and at home.
Kasper does great with other dogs and seems to gain confidence with them. He follows their lead and quickly learns from their actions. He is such a great little dog. Kasper does seem to be potty trained as well as long as he is taken out regularly and is learning how to walk on a leash, although back yards seem to much preferred for now.
We do believe Kasper would do best in a lower-key home environment so he can warm up to his new family at his own pace and feel safe coming out of his shell and trusting others.
Kasper is a low-non shedding dog, so his family will need to get him groomed regularly.
