My story

　　Kaiya has absolutely stolen her foster family's heart. She has a very special name for a very special dog. The name Kaiya means restful place, soulful, eldest sister, wise one and beautiful one, all of which aptly describe her. A native of the Navajo Reservation, Kaiya was one of the many stray dogs suriving the best she could when she became pregnant. Just before one of our winter blizzards, a volunteer rescued Kaiya and her puppies. They have all been adopted and now it is her turn to be the princess!  Her large brown eyes reveal her sweet demeaner and her appreciation for being rescued. Kaiya likes to keep an eye on her people and will likely follow you when you leave the room. Kaiya bonds deeply and quickly to her family and needs no other reason than simply because you have shown her kindness. Is there anything else in the world that rewards you with true unconditional devotion and undying love for just existing? Already Kaiya has learned how to walk on leash and is an excellent walker! No pulling or barking although she can be frightened by suden, loud noises. This smart girl taught herself how to use the doggie door but she still likes her person to go outdoors with her. Kaiya has requested a quieter home and while she gets along wonderfully with all of the dogs in her home regardless of size, sex or age, Kaiya will be perfectly content being an only doggie. She is really all about her people. Kaiya got adopted and then got loose while at a day care center and was lost for 10 days. It has left her unsettled and clingy to her foster mom.  After a week back she has regained the 10 lbs she lost and the giddyup is back in her step! She is a happy girl! Her foster parents absolutley adore Kaiya and think she is one of the easiest, most appreciative dogs they have ever fostered. She is still skittish and can be spooked of loud noises but she is very sweet. and At night she sleeps in her foster parent's bedroon and doesn't make a peep until they get up. She waits patiently to go outside. You won't find a sweeter pup than Kaiya! She is around 1 or maybe 2 years old and weighs 55 lbs.
