Jylo's story
Adoption fee on this dog is $300.
Jylo is a handsome, robust 5 yo black and tan male who was relinquished to a local shelter, but no reason or information was provided. He was brought into our organization overweight, but he is making rapid progress losing these excess pounds through daily walks and a low calorie diet. Despite his grand appearance, Jylo is an easy going boy who calms in the home, even while he is alone. He is content laying on his bed, or will entertain himself by playing soccer with a ball. If the human joins in, he's ready to play catch! Believe it or not, this big fella is agile.
Jylo appears to have a slight stiffness of his joints on the right front foot. This does not appear to inhibit him from enjoying all his canine activities, however he will benefit from muscle strengthening to maintain appropriate stability.
While in the foster home, he frequently seeks affection and has learned to enjoy belly rubs. He shows the desire to play with other dogs, but may get confused with assertive play. Supervision with dog introductions will be very helpful. Jylo recently went on a pack walk with types dogs, big and small, and he did very well.
Jylo is house broken and sleeps quietly in a crate during the night. He is learning to enjoy car rides but may require assistance in vehicle loading.
Continued exercise, socializing and training will be a benefit for Jylo and will help with the bonding of his new people.
Cats and small critters unknown.
