My story
Juneau's engaging and sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. She is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Schnauzer/Poodle (Schnoodle) breeds. At just about 9 to 9.5 years old and 11 lbs..the perfect size for neighborhood walks (she's a very social girl), hikes in the gorgeous Colorado mountains, car rides to dog-friendly destinations or backyard play..all would speak to Juneau's love of coming along and being with her family having so much fun. Juneau would love nothing more than to spend a day of play and walks followed by crashing on the couch for belly rubs and snuggles all night long. This beautiful Schnoodle has been through so much in her life. The stress and environmental challenges like fleas/ticks that Juneau has suffered through resulted in skin dermatitis (unfortunately so common in dogs from the humid south). Following Farfel's Rescue speaking up to save Juneau's life, she was immediately put on antibiotics for her skin as well as soothing dips, topical medications, oral meds and supportive supplements such as salmon oil. Juneau's coat is responding very well and vets anticipate that her hair will be fluffy and cottony-soft within a short time. Juneau is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Juneau in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's very social and engaging and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Juneau would be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with an adorable and very loving Schnoodle. Juneau's nature is to be a very happy girl who represents the joyful attitude of both the Schnauzer and Poodle breeds. While she might be initially shy or frightened (rehoming is often a bit scary), some kind words, a loving hug and a yummy treat.. and Juneau falls deeply in love.Juneau doesn't require another dog to be happy...she loves her people dearly and if they're attentive and loving, this sweet and loyal girl will be fulfilled and very happy. If a gentle dog is already part of a family, that's great with Juneau as well. She enjoys her time spent in the company of canines and that dog will become Juneau's best friend.Juneau will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure....it can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. A car ride is also always fun..especially if it leads to a fun, dog-loving destination. At day's end, a spot on the bed all night beside her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this wonderful little dog.Juneau's Texas rescuer had the following to say about sweet Juneau: Miss Juneau is a one of a kind special girl. She is so sweet and happy as can be once she's comfortable in her environment. My 12 and 16 year old daughters love Juneau beyond (as do their friends!) A typical scene at my house has become Juneau on the couch cuddling between my girls and their friends. Everyone who has met Juneau thinks she's wonderful! Juneau will be arriving on transport in mid to late December. Adoption applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and cuddly best friend. An app can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Juneau, please be sure to fill out a Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving pup. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
