Description

Rover's Rest Stop only adopts within the greater Phoenix, Arizona area at this time. If you are interested in adopting one of our fabulous dogs and to learn more about who we are visit us on Facebook.com/roversreststop or our web page

Rover's match making procedure is to complete the application after which a telephone interview will be conducted along with your reference checks. At that time, if appropriate, a home visit will be scheduled for the dog to come to your home and meet you.

At Rovers Rest Stop its all about the Dog ! We love our kids and want the best forever placement with the easiest transition to their new home. To that end, they are with us approximately two to six months or longer, which is individual to each kid, to achieve optimum health, rehabilitation, and training.

  RESUME:

June Bug is full of herself!

Still acts very much like a puppy but she is perfectly housetrained, takes a shower just fine, loves to go for walks and rides in the car.

She will do fine with kids over 12 but not younger.

She will need more socialization out and about like Starbucks, Home Depot etc.

June Bug had a mom that loved her so much but was too lenient.. and did not teach her or socialize her.

So a training class will be required to not only help you to bond with her but also let her know that you are serious when you ask her to do something.

Example: She goes out to potty and play and is just fine but when you tell her to come in she runs the other way like it is a game - recall is a very very important thing to reinforce and know.

June Bug is not a barker other than to alert.

She does seem to shy away from men or anyone looming over her.

Her communication is a growl sound instead of other methods like barking.

This is something that will need to be worked on.

June Bug is a player - she plays with all the kids and anyone else that will give her the time!

It is suspected that her mom played tug or growly with her and she makes a ferocious growl sound when playing.

She also still has the puppy tendency to be a little mouthy but does take correction well.

This little girl absolutely must have two very long walks - 45 minutes plus twice a day!

She has energy to burn as well as it will help with her socialization, timid behaviors.

She is a very good girl just needing more direction.
