JOHN BOY's story

　　John Boy is a handsome dog who was brought to the shelter with his buddy Steve because they were too rambunctious for the small child in the home. Weimaraners are very active, exhuberant dogs. John Boy likes to jump up when he is happy to meet new people, which is why he did not do well around the small child in the home. John Boy has not been around cats or small indoor pets. He has been trained as a bird dog, working in the field on a shock collar. He knows basic obedience and is accustomed to a doggy door so that he can let himself outside when needed. John Boy was described as the more independent of the two. He is hoping to find an active home that enjoys the outdoors and will let him continue to have a job!
