My story
Jinx is uniquely beautiful (a flame-point torbie with blue eyes!), can be very affectionate, and has a mournful meow. She is spayed, current on shots, chipped, good with the litter box, and loves a good sisal scratching post. She stores her favorite toys (sparkly puff balls) in her food bowl and likes to suck on a soft blanket and make “happy paws” while falling asleep. (She also wants me to tell you that her favorite food is turkey!)
Jinx has mild hyperesthesia (FHS), which means she sometimes feels like parts of her body are attacking her. During an attack, her fur ripples, she gets very agitated and focused on what is happening to her, and she will lick anything nearby (her fur, the floor, the scratching post, a window, etc.). She gets medicine in her food twice daily that has reduced her attacks to only 1–2 a week. Since hyperesthesia is not curable (and can get worse if not treated), she will need to stay on medication for life to minimize these attacks.
She’s looking for a quiet, predictable home without kids or other pets as they cause her stress, which can trigger FHS attacks. She is sometimes cranky before and after attacks, which means her new family will need to be patient with her, willing to watch her body language, and understanding about her personal space issues and moods.
It will pay off with a sweet and playful kitty who will happily lounge on you while you are reading or watching TV.
