My story

　　Jessie is a 10 year old, 45 pound female pitbull mix. 

　　Jessie is the sweetest girl! She loves going on neighborhood strolls and walks great on leash, taking time to smell the flowers and say a gentle and friendly hello. She likes to share snacks (peanut butter and apples anyone?), and rides great in the car. She is an amazing companion and loves to be with her people. She tolerates bath time just fine and enjoys her shampoo massage. She will “paw” for more pets and truly believes she is a 45 lb lap dog! She likes to be covered with a blanket for ultimate coziness during nap time. At night she sleeps very soundly in her crate and serenades with her pibble snores.

　　Jessie is housetrained and will benefit from being kept on a schedule or have regular access to the outdoors. As an older dog, she can not wait all day to do her business.

　　Jessie currently lives with a cat, but this is not a recommended forever situation. She does have prey drive and stays tethered whenever the cat is in the same area. However, with slow, positive introduction and management, she would likely do well in a home with another dog.

　　Jessie had a number of small lumps removed from her mammaries at the shelter, so will need to be monitored going forward with regular vet care.

　　Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.
