My story

　　Jasper is a handsome, young, active boy who is looking for an active, dog-savvy home with another playful dog.  We don’t know exactly what his breed mix is, but he appears to have Greyhound, Doberman, and Weimaraner in the mix.We don’t know exactly what his early life was like, but it caused pretty severe anxiety and dog reactivity.  When we agreed to take him into our program, we didn’t realize how severe his issues were.  He has been at Tug dogs for boarding and training for several months.  We started him on fluoxetine (doggy prozac) which has helped with his anxiety.  His social skills have increased dramatically, especially when it comes to playing with other dogs.  He is very sweet with people once he spends a little time with them.His major issue now is his leash reactivity, both when seeing people and other dogs on walks.  He has also shown improvement in this regard, but his new home will need to slowly expose him to new situations and be patient as he learns that he does not need to fear these encounters.  He is a big, strong dog, so using a head collar and harness will help control him when he becomes reactive.
