Before you decide to try to sell the old bird on Americanlisted, you may be surprised to know just how easy it might be to fix your bike. Even if it looks to be in rough shape, I can probably fix it. Parts aren't hard to source, and my labor rate is cheap. If you can swing $25 bucks an hour, I can make a non-runner come alive again. In the service industry, there's good, fast, and cheap, but you can only have two. I'll do it right, and cheaper than anybody else. Most dealer's in this area will down-right turn you away at the door if you come up to them with a classic bike!

　　Some basic stuff:

　　I am a MOBILE MECHANIC. Meaning you don't have to trailer or transport the bike anywhere. I can come to you and do work where the bike sits. If preferred however, you can bring your bike to my shopette.

　　I can work on any Japanese bike from the 1960's up until the present. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha. I can also fix Korean bikes such as Hyosung. As far as Chinese bikes go, *none* of the dealer's around here will work on them. The best I can tell you is that I can TRY. I have repaired many bikes that previous owners thought were a lost cause.

　　Typical jobs and costs:

　　Carb removal and cleaning: $60 + labor

　　Electrical troubleshooting: $40 + labor

　　Front fork seals: $150 + parts

　　Upper engine refurb ( head cleaning, valve lapping, piston cleaning, new rings, misc): $250-$450

　　Engine overhaul: $600-$1100

　　Replacing a clutch: $60 + labor

　　Oil change: $20 + oil/filter

　　Brake Flush & Bleed: $30 + labor

　　If your repairs need more than 1 appointment, you only have to pay the surcharge *once*. The surcharges cover a multitude of things, and act as a warranty for my work for 1 year.

　　If you need your carbs cleaned, I *highly* recommend you get new fuel bowl gaskets. Once you separate a fuel bowl from the carb body, it is very difficult to get the old gasket to mate up again. The more cash you throw at new parts for your carbs, the better they will run in the end.

　　"My engine wont start!" - Figuring out why wont take long. Repairing it could cost more than you paid for an old japanese bike. Keep in mind, if you decide not to fix it, the next old japanese bike you buy with likely have the same issues... If it gets to the point where it will be cheaper to get a used engine, I'll let you know.

　　If your bike needs cosmetic repairs, I do paint and body work for WAY less than anybody else in Western NC. For instance, if your parts are in good shape and you just want a new color, you're only looking at a 7 day turnaround and $800+ cost of a pint of paint (or two). I can fix dents in gas tanks, scuffed plastics, all that stuff, no problem.
