Meet Jackie (aka Jack) and Jillie (aka Jill), two spunky chihuahua / pekingese siblings who are about 5 yrs old. Jackie and his sister Jillie were surrendered to us by their family who were no longer able to care for them. After having them in our care for a bit, it's obvious to us that splitting them up isn't an option as they truly are the best of buddies so they'll be adopted out as a pair.
Jackie can be initially pretty shy, but warms up quickly. He's the lazier of the two and likes to lay about but will do just about anything for belly rubs. Jillie is more playful than her lazy brother, loves her humans, likes to cuddle and be close. She loves belly rubs too, and will lay in your lap until you give her one.
Both of them are fine with other dogs their size after an initial meeting period, but can be wary of big dogs and haven't been around them much. Jillie doesn't seem to mind cats at all when they are in her space, but Jackie will chase them. They are both potty pad trained, and knows to go outdoors if given access.
Jackie and Jillie walk fine on leash, and enjoy their daily walks. They haven't been around children, but given their initial shy personalities we assume they wouldn't be great with young kids and their quick movements. Older kids over 12 they'd probably be fine with. But their ideal home would likely be in an adult household.
Jackie is neutered and Jillie is spayed. They are both microchipped and up to date on shots.
Their adoption fee (for both) is $400
All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.
