We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt // // Lucy is not just another pretty face. She is smart, loyal, affectionate, and has lots of personality. When this one year old, 13 pound sweetheart first arrived at my house it was obvious she lacked training. She was nervous and unsure about everything and since she did not know any rules she made up her own! After one week with me, she will go outside when given access to outdoors, walks much better (pulling less) on the leash, and comes when she is called. She is also working on the commands stay and sit. She is fun to train because she is very receptive and eager to learn. She has also made great progress socially. At first she wanted to be alpha female and had a little trouble fitting in our pack. With some adjustment time and training, she now gets along beautifully with my two small dogs. I was told she was afraid of large dogs, so Ive been exposing her to larger dogs very gradually. She still needs some reassurance, but she is less fearful and more comfortable with them. She is still a little nervous at Dog Park, but each time (3X) she gets more confident. She loves the beach and does well walking on trails. She is absolutely delighted when we go on outings and rides calmly in the back seat of the car. With every new experience she gains confidence and good manners. I am very proud of her and impressed with her progress. She really is a special little dog. She enjoys chew toys and loves to snuggle on a pile of pillows. She would do well alone or with other small dogs. She sleeps in a dog bed, but if allowed, loves to cuddle in bed with you. She is not an incessant barker, not destructive, and although she still needs to be on the leash because she will go exploring, she does not bolt and run away. She needs an owner who will provide exercise, discipline and love. She will be very grateful, and in return, will be a well behaved, loving companion. Lucy is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $200.All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog. We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information. All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog. Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog.
