Jack's story
Jack is a loving 3-year-old yellow boy who was surrendered to DLRR by his owners because they could no longer afford his care. After Jack was brought into DLRR, it was noted that he had some reactivity to men as well as certain situations, so he has received intervention and training from our dog behavior specialist. Jack is a higher energy boy who needs plenty of physical exercise and play time. He also needs mental exercise and then time to rest and relax completely. He will do best in a structured home with an active but quiet family. He is a very loving boy who thrives on direction, protection and praise. He plays beautifully with other dogs and lived with cats in his prior home. He would love to have a trained dog, who is calm by nature, as a buddy. Jack is a smart boy and will amuse you and bring joy to your life. He has a kind heart and soul and deserves the best in life. Jack has learned a number of commands, is kennel trained, treadmill trained, housebroken, and obedience trained. The trainer will work with his adopter to teach all commands and a calming technique which can help Jack if he gets overstimulated. Jack requires a committed adopter willing to continue with his training for his long-term success, and who understands that Jack will take some time to feel completely comfortable in new surroundings. Once he does, however, he will reward you with loyalty and love.
