　　Isla is a 3 year old, 13lb, Schnauzer/Maltese(?) mix who is 100% adorable. She is a sweet, little dog with a calm energy despite her young age, but can be apprehensive in new settings. Isla is sociable with her furry foster siblings but not super playful with them. With rambunctious toddlers around, she is quick to run and hide when things get rowdy. At bedtime, she would love to snuggle up next to you but is content to sleep in her own bed (near you) throughout the night if you prefer.

　　Isla would benefit from continued socialization and a consistent routine to help her build her confidence. She is not big on tricks, but can surely learn when she has a family that spends the time to teach her. She's happy to learn! Isla likes squeaky toys and of course loves treats like cheese, turkey topper, steamed sweet potatoes skins. She is great in the car and is calm and cooperative at bath time. Her beautiful, fine hair will require regular grooming.

　　The best fit for Isla would be with a very nurturing and loving family/person that is home often and can provide unlimited belly-rubs and couch snuggle time. Older children are recommended due to her fear of sudden movements and sounds. She would be happy with a doggie pal, but is also fine on her own.

　　Isla is spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She is gonna be a great family member. Please go to Second Chance's website at: to complete an application to meet her. Her adoption fee is $250.00 and helps the organization cover spay costs, vaccinations, medical treatment, food and supplies.

　　All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.
