Hi, I'm Spartacus!
Like the Spartans, I beat impossible odds at the shelter and was rescued. I was brought in wearing a collar and knowing commands but my owner never came looking for me. Being a pitbull can be a hard stigma to overcome especially in the shelter environment. Families would walk by looking for a new forever friend and sometimes a boy or girl would stop by and greet me but everytime the parent's would shake their head and they would leave with a smaller, fluffier, or more puppy-like dog. I was so happy for my friends but as much as I tried I couldn't get smaller or fluffier but I wish they knew at 2 years old, I'm still very puppy-like! If someone would just take me out to play for just a couple minutes they would see I was a talented athlete, playmate and comedian all rolled into one handsome package. Although the shelter staff and volunteers loved me and gave me lots of extensions, I grew very depressed waiting for someone to come until my foster Mom came to give me a second chance at a forever home.
In my foster home, I've been a very good boy. I've gotten along with dogs in my foster home but I can be a bit rowdy at moments and would do best with other playful medium to large dogs. I learn quickly and know basic commands, I've begun crate training and I'm learning to love my crate. Sometimes I sleep in there when the door is open just because I think it is cozy. I am VERY food motivated. I'm housetrained ans know how to use a dog door.
I'm fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. I'm available to meet and greet in both Phoenix and Tucson by appointment. My foster is located in Mesa but can meet in other areas.
