My story
Foster Notes:Meet Huey the Wonder Dog. He came into my foster home 4 months ago as an abused mangy skeleton of a dog. He was part of a very large pack of unfortunate dogs. He is very smart, as it only took two days to acclimate to living indoors. He has been completely non-destructive, eats well, and rarely barks. He has gained weight and is now about 25 Lbs. It took 2 months just to be able to touch him under special conditions, such as I must not be standing. His behavior indicates he has been kicked and was terrified of hands. Now, a few months later, he still doesn't like standing people, but if I'm sitting on the bed... he will flop next to me and beg for belly rubs. He gets along great with other dogs and is rather high energy, so he should have an active playmate dog of similar size and age. He is about 2 years old. He is really super playful and loves plush toys. He has learned to play with human hands and does a pretty good job of walking on a leash. Everyone at the dog park remarks on what beautiful golden eyes he has. His fur is soft and he doesn't shed. He still doesn't trust strangers easily but has never shown any aggression towards people, just caution. He is not a fighter. He will lick my hands but not my face. In short, he is a wonderful little dog and an awesome addition to the right home.
