My story
Hope was rescued by a good Samaritan who found her tied to a pole, being screamed at by an unhoused individual. She asked if she could take the puppy off her hands and the individual agreed, still screaming how bad the puppy was for not walking well on a leash.Hope yelped in pain every time someone touched her back. She was, quite obviously, abused. For doing what a puppy does. Thankfully, the injury was nothing serious and she showed improvement within 48 hours. She won the heart of the Vet Tech who offered to foster her for us.Hope has been living with two adult dogs and is doing extremely well. She is very active and loves to wrestle with her younger foster brother but will also cuddle up with her senior foster brother. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles with her dinosaur toy all the time! She has had no chewing incidents since she arrived in her foster home and potty training is going well, too. She sometimes forgets to go out or alert her foster parents but she goes out the doggy door to go to the bathroom most of the time. While she loves to snuggle up with her people in bed, she is okay with sleeping in her kennel. She gets worked up a bit at first but settles down soon enough. She is fearless and will do great in a home with kids of all ages as well as other dogs and cats. Please note, we do not spay/neuter puppies before the age of 6-8 months, depending on the Veterinarians’ recommendation. Adopter must sign a spay/neuter contract and commit to having the puppy spayed/neutered between the age of 8-12 months. All current AND previous pets (cats and dogs) MUST be up to date on vaccines and be spayed/neutered.Please check with your landlord, if you rent, for breed and weight restrictions before applying. We do not allow visitors unless you are an approved adopter. Please fill out an adoption application if you're interested in adopting Hope./adoption-app
