HONEY BEAR's story

　　Would you say this animal is vocal, quiet or somewhere in between? HB will let other dogs know she is boss, but she is also lazy about always responding.

　　Was this animal around KIDS (if so, please describe their reaction): HB went to Tanque Verde Falls and met 3 young children with their family. She let the kids (under5 years) pet her and talk to her. We didn`t spend more than 2-3 minutes with them though.

　　Was this animal around DOGS (if so, please describe their reaction): At first meeting and for that whole night, HB was very scared of my Golden Shepherd, Kona, who just wanted to play. After meeting Kona on 3 separate occasions, HB warmed up and now they kiss, play, tumble, sleep-it is the cutest thing. They truly are friends. HB is jealous of any attention I give Kona, so she shoves her way in, and Kona will let her.

　　HB needs a dog friend, but it will need to be a forgiving one at first.

　　How would you describe your home environment (calm, busy, chaotic, etc) Fairly calm, though I have friends and family over which makes for a bit chaotic, but in general we are routine: up around 6am, meals and walks, walk again in the evening, eat around 6pm, bed around 10pm.

　　Does s/he have any behavioral issues that you are aware of? HB has separation anxiety and will try to get to her human. When I leave the house, she is comforted by having my other dog and some treats. She watches Sesame Street and other PBS cartoon-I think she likes the voices, but she says it`s the plot.

　　Is s/he fearful of any objects, situations, or people? (if so, describe) HB is fearful of most men, bigger dogs, large trashcans, cactus that look like humans (because they might be). Mostly she does not like to be left by her human(s). She will need someone to be patient with her at first. She can definitely bond.

　　When left alone, where does s/he sleep? On the sofa.

　　Is this animal house-trained or litter box trained? HB is a good girl and knows where to do her biznis.

　　What toys, if any, does your foster enjoy playing with? HB likes to take Kona`s bouncy ball, but she is not sure what to do with it when she gets it. She loves beef marrow bones, treats, and nylabones.
