Hoder's story

　　**BLIND SENIOR NEEDS YOU!**

　　Do you have a heart for special needs dogs? For senior dogs? How about a special needs senior dog? Hoder needs YOU! Ten year old Hoder is completely blind, and really needs out of the shelter asap. Can you imagine how difficult and scary it must be to hear all the shelter commotion around you, and smell all these other dogs, without being able to actually SEE what's going on? Despite how scary this must be, Hoder is a complete sweetheart. She enjoys attention and pets, so long as you let her know you're there before petting her. She is currently in one of the "life rooms" inside, and is already starting to learn her environment, and hopping up and down off the couch.

　　I know from first-hand experience that blind dogs get around AMAZING once they learn their surroundings! My own blind dog knows his "pathways" through the house and yard, and I swear sometimes I forget he's blind, he gets around so well. I want Hoder to have the chance to get comfortable in a home setting where she doesn't have to be afraid of what she can't see.

　　Hoder has not been dog tested at the shelter, due to her medical condition. If you have a dog at home, bring them in and we can help everyone meet. You can visit 10 yr old Hoder at the MCAC West shelter at 2500 S 27th Ave., Phx. Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Hoder's adoption fee includes spay, rabies certificate and County license.
