Higgins's story
Posed among the pillows on the couch, handsome Higgins is ever-so-elegant in his ebony coat. At 32 pounds, he's loving and lovable, thinks of himself as a lap dog, and thrives on cuddling with his fosters. Once he gets to know people, he makes them his new best friends and will naughtily surf for people food if given the chance. As active as he is affectionate, he's leash trained and walks three times a day, loves playing fetch, and prefers playing with stuffed rather than hard toys. He also amuses himself by throwing his toys up in the air, then either catching them or dancing around them, and carrying his foster mom's shoes and socks out of one room and into another! He rides well in the car and, motivated by Charlie Bear treats, is learning "sit", "down" and "off", is housetrained. While he sleeps in his crate at night, he's occasionally escaped from it during the day when his foster mom's out. Because he's also tried escaping from their yard, this happy Houdini requires a tall, secure fence to keep him safe, loved and home fur-ever.
