Herend Porcelain Openwork Rectangular Dish (#218) $225
You are looking at a Hungarian vintage Herend porcelain rectangular openwork dish. The item is hand painted in a lilac flower pattern with a straw looking basket holding flourishing plants, leaves and flowers.
What is magnificent about this dish is that its completely hand braided with 24k yellow gold accent inlayed in the outer layers of the base and flowers plus gold dots decorate the center flower accents.
The Herend trademark and the Hungarian emblem with HANDPAINTED are stamped on the bottom, as well as the lot and serial numbers.
Herend collectibles was founded in Hungary in the early 1800s, and it quickly became the largest porcelain manufacturer in Europe. Herend items found its way among the rich and famous as Queen Victorian was a huge fan. Herend pieces are now owned and collected by people from all walks of life all over the world.
