Hercules: 11-year-old male chocolate Lab 86 lbs neutered
Background: The Twelve Labours for King Eurytheus were nothing compared to the four long weeks Hercules spent at the local county shelter. Hercules was found wandering the streets of Discovery Bay having slain the Lerneaen Hydra, captured the Nemean Lion, and cleaned out the Aegean Stables but after his owner was unwilling to spring him back from the shelter this remarkable hero dog decided to search for his new forever home through Lab Rescue. He has many epic adventures ahead of him
What Hercules foster says: What a joy it is to hang out with this guy. Mellow but playful. Housebroken. Affectionate. Inquisitive. Sleeps through the night without a peep. Loves his balls and bones. Hercules is happy to just lie nearby as I work at my desk. Loved our outing at a large dog park where he trotted around, always staying close to us as he explored.
What Hercules Rescue Rep says: This guy has great years ahead of him. Gets along with other dogs. Walks fabulously on leash. We think he is fine with cats.
Medical Information: Neutered, microchipped, current on shots. Hercules will be headed to our vet soon for a wellness exam and a heartworm test. Hercules has a few lumps (lipomas) and likely has some arthritis in his rear legs.
Hercules is located in: San Francisco.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
