Helen's story
Birthdate: August 1, 2018. Meet Helen! A rescuer in Puerto Rico got a call that a puppy had been hit by a car in front of a busy store where she was abandoned. When the rescuer arrived, Helen was placed in a box and had a hurt leg. People that saw her said she seems to not see well as she was bumping into things. Helen was quickly taken to the vet for evaluation, and the vet said that her leg was just hurt but had no fracture and could heal with rest. The vet also confirmed that Helen is blind, and it is most likely a birth defect and not related to her accident. Helen was fully vetted and cared for in Puerto Rico until she could be flown to us to find her forever home. She needs a home that will help her adjust to her surroundings, and will give her the love and care that she so much deserves. Helen gets along with cats and really needs to go to a home with another dog that she can be a buddy with. Given her special needs, it would probably be best that she doesn't go to a home with young children. You will fall in love with this sweet girl as soon as you meet her!
