HAZEL's story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
COMING SOON!! We are accepting *pre-applications* for gorgeous HAZEL. She needs a family that will provide LOTS of activity and play. While on walks/hikes, Hazel finds that sudden noises and new things can be startling, but she will take cues from a calm and happy _adult_ handler.
Hazel requires a home with humans who have _German Shepherd breed experience_, at least one friendly and playful dog, and a large backyard with VERY HIGH SECURE walls. Hazel can jump fences and, for her safety, we will be extremely particular about where she is permitted to live.
One of Hazel's biggest fans is the son of one of our volunteers. At age 11, he's already an aspiring veterinarian and he's a very dog-savvy and articulate young man. We rely on him for his perspective on our dogs, and we will be sharing some of his insights here in Hazel's bio. :-)
If you believe you may be a match for Hazel and would like more information about her, please complete our online adoption application.
Our fees and policies are on our home page at BetterDaysRescue.org. Dogs remain posted while we screen potential adopters. As long as a dog is designated "Available" we continue to accept applications.
**IMPORTANT** If you are reading this on a pet search site, PLEASE navigate to our animal list /animals/list and rea d this dog's entire, detailed profile.
"Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
"Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly dog that lives in the same household.
We DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life is taking them next.
We are staffed by all volunteers and use an application protocol to handle all inquiries about adoptable dogs. This system enables an efficiency that allows us to save and care for more dogs. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption application. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!
