HARVEY Neglected, but adorable Chi; Urgently Needs...
Dec 12, 2024
Description

Seven year old little Harvey's been through a LOT this year! Long story short, this adorable, cat-tested, and dog-friendly Chi has got trust issues. Can we talk?

He can be an ankle biter, which is cool as long as it's not YOUR ankle. If you are a woman living alone, you might consider Harvey before you splash out for that swell-looking lady's revolver you wear on a silver chain.

But your gentlemen friends would have to be "understanding" because, frankly, Harvey fears most men.

We have had Harvey fully assessed by our behavioral experts. We believe his snappy ways can be mended with time and TLC. Many small dogs exhibit fear-agression in shelters, but go on to become models of serenity.

So we think Harvey could benefit from a kindly foster-parent. Often, just getting out of a kennel and into human arms is the first step to socialization. As you can see by this photo, you can hold wee Harvey and he likes it.

We charge no fee to foster and give any support as needed, from food to approved vet care to on-going consult on issues as they arise. We also keep a kennel warm in case it doesn't work out for YOU.

We think things could work with Harvey and the right person.

And we promise that WE don't bite if you'd like to arrange a meet up with Harvey and one of our trainers at the shelter.

You could be the vital link to getting Harvey a permanent home. With all he's been through, he deserves that much. Can you help us help Harvey?

God or whoever runs the show will bless you and Harvey will probably be perfectly content to kiss your feet and bite the bad guys' ankles.

General "what to do next" as you explore our adoption/foster services:

To foster, adopt, or meet up with our dogs, please fill out an application at the Northern California "Family Dog Rescue" website:

There you will get more information about a particular dog and learn about our San Francisco-based, non-profit rescue. If you fill out an adoption or foster questionnaire online, we will get back to you quickly. For general questions you still have AFTER visiting our site, please email us at the contact address you will find on our site.

The volunteer who posts here does not handle adoptions, fosters, or questions involving that process. Thank you for your patience!

There are no fees to foster and we will provide you with support as needed, including food if requested, vet care, and we will be glad to respond to concerns on an ongoing basis. Fostering is really key to our ability to rescue dogs! You can play a vital role in socializing a dog so as to better his or her chances of finding a forever home.

The fee to adopt is on a sliding scale and generally includes spay/neuter, micro-chip and up to date shots.
