Someone (who must have known him) has written on the front paste-down "He made the clothes he has on" referring to the photo of Hardy on the cover. Also written on the front blank page is "To Ray Redman from mother" and below that Hardy has signed his name (in a shaky hand). Two pages show some tea splashed on them.
