Look out now...Hampton will capture your heart the first time you meet him! He is one happy go lucky pup that gets along with all dogs and cats that cross his path. This little guy can play all day long with the big boys - he isn't about to let a small disability ruin his fun!
Shortly after arriving to the rescue, Hampton was diagnosed with the loss of sensation in his hind end. X-rays confirmed that he was born with a small congenital defect at the base of his tail. Since Hampton's nerve endings stopped prematurely, he cannot sense when it is time for a bowel movement. His bladder works just fine and he is going through a "normal" potty training regimen with his other foster brothers and sisters; as he grows older, it is probable that his need to defecate will be more predicable (early morning, after eating, etc.), but it will in no way affect his quality of life! We all think he looks super studly in his man pants and use of a reusable diaper is sufficient for current training purposes. Hampton has no other known health issues and we are so hoping to find him a loving and patient home willing to work with his disability! Hampton has so much love to give to his future parents!
