My story
Habanero is not a kitten for the faint of heart and you should have expert level kitten skills to take her on. She is a spicy little miss with strong opinions and boundaries that she is more than prepared to defend. Habanero looks dainty and delicate, but don't let that fool you as she is fast and feisty as all get out. She likes to be around people and will settle down on or near a lap after a good play session, and only then might she consider allowing you to pet her. Just a little bit. At the end of the day, she will readily climb onto the bed to snuggle up on you, but touch at your own peril and sleep with one eye open. Habanero is getting more accustomed to our strange human customs, but if you are looking for a kitten that you can pick up and hug, look at some of the other adorable little kittens we have available. If you are looking for a kitten that is quirky, piquant, and curious, and willing to go slow and appreciate the unusual, Habanero is your girl.
Habanero is happy to greet the day with a little mayhem and destruction, followed by breakfast, topped off with teasing her brother, Anaheim. Midday always entails a nice long nap in adorable poses followed by demands for dinner and further napping in front of the TV.
Habanero will be the first one to the treat if offered, and uses her small size and speed to get the best of everything. She is not open to other cats initially, but can warm up to them, and currently shares a (human-sized) bed with her brother Anaheim and four other cats.
Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested negative for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. Note that most of our kittens under age 5 months need to be adopted with a buddy.
This kitten is currently in a foster home. To meet the kitten, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. /adopt
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Habanero, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
