My story
07/23/21 This little lady is Gypsy. Gypsy was surrendered to the shelter because her prior owners were no longer able to care for her. Gypsy was described as very protective over her food and toys and according to her previous owners she can be a little rough with children, so we are requiring that she goes to a home without children under 12 years. Gypsy is said to be cautious with strangers but generally good with adults. Gypsy has been friendly and easy to handle here at the shelter! She is eager to greet her animal tenders and affectionate. She was also said to be friendly towards other dogs. It is unknown how Gypsy does with cats or littler critters. Gypsy is said to be obedience trained but does not listen well, per her previous owners, although the shelter staff has found that she walks nicely on a leash and may just need a family that can take the time to be consistent with her and help her re-up her basic commands. Gypsy may benefit from attending a basic obedience class with her new family, to further their bonding and provide her new family with the skills they need to help Gypsy grow through her teenage years! Gypsy's previous owner stated that she will sometimes jump on counters as well as people and get into the trash if she is not supervised- providing Gypsy with plenty of mental and physical stimulation will help her to remain well behaved. Gypsy is said to ride well in vehicles and would love to go on new adventures with her family! If this girl sounds like the one for you please give the shelter a call!
