My story
Meet Gulliver, a 6 year old Shepherd/Pit bull mixed breed. He was originally adopted in 2015, but was returned on 3/3/20 because he was no longer getting along with the other dog in the home. The owner said Gulliver loves everyone he meets and is a playful and high energy dog. He can be a rather rough player,
so would probably be too much for young children. He seems very mouthy when exiting his kennel and
needs to be taught not to grab onto his leash when being walked. A metal chain leash attached to a training harness or martingale collar is recommended.
Once he’s had his exercise and
calms down, he lies on his bed and chews on his nylabone toy. His former owner said he did well with cats. We don’t know for sure that he is
housebroken, but think it is very likely since he lived in a home successfully for 4 years. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms.
All dogs receive monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick while they live at our shelter.Gulliver needs an experienced owner who is has the time, energy and commitment to provide this friendly but energetic dog the exercise and training he needs to be a happy and successful family member
