My story

　　Grizzy is a beautiful, adorable, almost 4 year old silver Yorkie. He weighs 12.3 pounds. Grizzy is being fostered in Leesburg, Florida.

　　Updated Bio 9-21-22:Grizzy took no time to settle in and make himself right at home from the minute he arrived at his foster home. He is happiest when he is with his foster mom or dad. His first love is people more than anything. He will give kisses and love and wants cuddles and belly rubs. From the very first night he arrived there was no question where he would sleep and that was in his foster parents' bed. He doesn't want a doggie bed, not Grizz. He only wants to sleep on the pillow in between his foster mom and dad on their big bed, and that is where he spends his nights.

　　When Grizz doesn't feel he is getting enough attention and love from his people he will whimper at them with soft little whimpers that seem to say, "Please, pay attention to me."

　　After his love for people, his second love is trying to catch a squirrel, though maybe not to be his friend. He will spend his time in the fenced backyard doing his best to catch one. He hasn't gotten close yet, but that hasn't kept him from trying. Knowing this, a fully fenced backyard would be very important in Grizz’s life. He loves being outside as much as possible and wants to spend his time trying his hardest to catch a squirrel.

　　Grizzy had his vet visit and he is a very healthy fellow, even though the vet said he was too chubby. This guy loves to eat and now he has to lose 2 pounds. It is possible that his former owner fed him table food, treats, or whatever else he wanted. Now he will get the right amount of food and exercise to lose those pounds. A chubby dog is not a healthy dog. Grizzy probably has some allergies and has been sneezing. A half of an Apoquel has taken care of the sneezing and the itching and he is much more comfortable.

　　Grizz is not a barker, but he did bark at some people at the vet's office. That was followed by giving kisses to the guy sitting in the chair next to us. He simply loves people so much, therefore a home where he would be left alone regularly for any length of time would not be something he would like. He is fine with the other dogs in his foster home but he really does not interact with them. It is people that are the most important thing in his world.

　　It is hard to know if Grizzy is house trained. He will do his business outside. There are times when one of the dogs has an accident in the house and no one admits to it. It could have been any one of them. The good news is he is able to go all night without having any accidents and will do his business outside first thing in the morning.

　　Grizzy doesn't seem to walk very well on a leash. He does pull. More than likely, he can learn better leash behaviors. He does well in the car, but without attention he whines a little. We know these things about Grizz. He seems to know the command Stay. He doesn’t seem to like loud noises, yelling, or a lot of commotion. We know Grizzy likes people, however we don't know if he likes kids or cats. He is fine with other small dogs, but we don't know how he would do with big dogs. These are still things to learn about him. We do know he won't be a good companion or friend for another dog. People will always be what he loves most and come first in his life.

　　Unless Grizzy's personality changes, we know he would prefer to be an only dog in an adult home with someone home most of the time. This home should have a nice fully fenced backyard with trees for squirrels and birds he could chase. Your reward for giving Grizz his perfect forever home would be so many kisses and love and the best little friend you could ever want.

　　Grizzy should hopefully be ready for his forever home by the end of September.
