Greyhound - Herbie - Large - Young - Male - Dog

　　Herbie is 2 and 1/2 and retired after 10 races. He is new to the kennel and will be available soon. Herbie seems to do fine with small dogs and cats. I?m Herbie and I?m pretty cute. My brother, Blast, found a wonderful home, even though he resembled a retired boxer, so I know there?s a family out there for me. I?m a little on the shy side and probably would do better in a home with another dog to show me the ropes. It?s amazing to me that there are people that will take me into their home, love me, and buy me doggie toys and a doggie bed all my own. I was bred and trained to race but, in my off hours, I had to clean the bathrooms and serve drinks to the racing patrons. HA! Gotcha! Anyone who bought my yarn about cleaning the bathrooms is not smart enough to adopt a greyhound. However, serving drinks to patrons, well, we can talk about this when we meet! FOSTER UPDATE: Herbie is a young handsome black male. He is friendly to all and passed cat testing. He eats well (fed twice a day). He is initially a tad shy but warms up quickly. He has not been around kids or babies. He does well with men and women. He walks beautifully on a lead--no pulling. He is not crated and does not care for it. He is housetrained to a doggie door. There has been no thunder or loud noises but he remains lying down as I vacuum around him. He rides very nicely in the car. I work full time and he has had no separation issues but I do have nine dogs so he is not alone. He is young and does like to play with my 2yr old dingo and 1yr greyhound. He would do well in a home with another young dog. My guess is that he would also do well with kids. He is a very loving, good natured, non-alpha guy but he is young, so does like to play. He has not been destructive at all but does enjoy a good counter surfing! This has decreased greatly as he is learning the house rules. Just an excellent dog.
