Greyhound - Dylan - Large - Adult - Male - Dog
Dylan is a 3 and 1/2 year old black male who had a substantial race career. He is new to our kennel and will be available soon. His small dog status is unknown. Dylan is not cat tolerant. No, I?m not a musician even though they call me Dylan. I?m your regular handsome greyhound looking for a family that just can?t live without me. I must say, my new digs are such an improvement over my previous housing arrangement. I love the volunteers who take time out of their busy lives to come to the kennel and care for us fur kids. It feels so good to be loved, and I want an opportunity to return that love as only a greyhound can: crotch sniffing, ballerina twirling, nosing my way under your armpit so you can scratch my ears, following you around like a shadow, sitting on the bathroom rug while you take a shower, and cuddling with you on the couch watching a movie. FOSTER UPDATE:
Dylan lives with two older greyhounds and enjoys being part of a pack; they coexist well. Dylan brings youthful energy, and the two older greys provide a calming influence. For Dylan, a pup born in April, that?s a good thing! Dylan tolerates kids, although he is not drawn to them. The female greyhound in the home defers to Dylan, so he?s got a touch of the machismo. Expansive hand motions make Dylan retreat, perhaps this behavior was forged in his former life. During these times, he will not respond to his name. As with all greyhounds, a gentle, consistent voice and a nudge is all that it takes to move the greyhound into the right direction. Dylan is not shy, but will size up the visitors and approach them on his time. Dylan is housetrained using a doggie door. Nothing fazes this boy, although he has yet to experience a summer monsoon storm! Dylan lives in a rural environment where wild life roams freely at night; hence, Dylan goes out onto the patio and adds his Roos to the wild life orchestra! Dylan is not crated because he doesn?t have behavior issues. Since being in foster care, Dylan has gained some well-needed weight, as well as a steady supply of water. He handles grooming without fuss, suspect that he knows his name, but will not always come when called. Additional training will be necessary. Dylan is over the moon with toys, more toys, and more toys! This gentle, loving greyhound could be a long-time companion as a second or third dog in a pack
