Greyhound - Christie - Large - Adult - Female - Dog

　　Christie is a 5 1 /2 year old black female who just finsihed a long and successful racing career. Now it is time for this wonderful girl to have the comforts and joys of a forever home. Christie is not compatible with small dogs or cats.

　　FOSTER UPDATE:

　　Christie is a pistol; she?s curious about everything. She loves her walks, but has a high prey drive. Living with small dogs or cats is not for her! Initially, she was not thrilled when her foster mate got in her face or wanted to romp with her, so she snapped and growled at him. However, this was during the adjustment period when greyhounds feel insecure and are spreading their paws; something they were never allowed to do during their racing careers. They are now getting along much better. Christie is eager to meet and greet people. So far, Christie has not met or engaged with any children, so we don?t know how she would react to kids. Christie will whine and/or bark for a while when her foster parents are absent from the home. This behavior is not unusual for a greyhound that has only been in foster care for a couple of weeks. Thus far, Christie has not experienced Arizona monsoon storms! However, she is housetrained, without benefit of a doggie door. She rides well in the car. When the foster guardians are away from the home for a couple of hours, Christie is crated and tolerates short-term crating. She has a healthy appetite without negative reactions to any food. She loves her walks and weekly grooming routine. Overall, Christie is well behaved although she does not always recognize her name. Everything takes time. Give Christie another few weeks, and this fur-fab will be ready to enroll at Columbia Law School in New York Ha!
