Description

I collect and clean most any older camera in my effort to eliminate these units from winding up in some landfill. So many of the old foldouts, 35mm and just older film cameras had so much of our forefathers technology built in that to me it seems a shame to just discard for the sake of new, howbeit I like the new but consider these worth keeping around for

our posterity. They are great conversation pieces, make beautiful mantle / library units and are quite interesting. Hopefully this ad will find the attention of those who do treasure our parents past and what they were able to accomplish with the tools, knowledge and technology of their day. I have a personal collection of seventy or so older cameras and am always interested to either buy or trade, keep that in mind please.

This camera outfit will more than likely go to the enthusiast who practices the old trade and enjoys it immensely! I recently acquired the "23" and it looked as if it had been left on a shelf for thirty years with the accumulation of not so much wear but years of dust and temperature changes. However it looked as a camera that just needed some restorative work and the hands of a photo-technician to bring back its capabilities!

Graflex was a manufacturer, a brand name and several models of cameras. William F. Folmer, an inventor, built the first Graflex camera in 1898, when his company was called The Folmer and Schwing Manufacturing Company, founded originally in New York as a gas lamp company. As the gas lamp market dimmed, it expanded into making bicycles selling cameras of other makers as accessories, then making cameras themselves, dropping the bicycle line. That firm in 1905 was purchased by George Eastman. In 1907, the company became the Folmer and Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak. After a few more interim changes of status and name, it finally became simply "Graflex, Inc." in 1945.[1]

From 1912 to 1973 Graflex produced large format and medium format press cameras in film formats from 2 1⁄4 × 3 1⁄4″ (6 × 7 cm) to 4 × 5″.[2] They also produced rangefinder, SLR and TLR cameras in a variety of formats ranging from 35mm to 5 × 7″.

This unit comes with the following:

  1. Flash Stem

  2. Four film holders

  3. One Graphic Film Pack Adapter

  4. One Graflok Back

  5. Leather backs that need reglued for the front base and the Graflok back, which are in good shape.

  6. Instruction and Reference Manual which is loaded with the technical and informative language to start usage.
